YOU CAN BE A PHOTOGRAPHER!

I’m not gonna bore you by defining the term; rather I will try to explain what makes someone a photographer as best as I can.

When the word ‘photographer’ is called, the very first picture that comes to everyone’s’ mind is that of a middle age man draped in a dull clothe dragging around a camera that looks like a log of wood. I know many of us weren’t born yet when that kind of camera was in vogue. Although we prolly met the analogue camera that uses rolls of films, but if you are reading this post right now, chances are high that you’ve come across one of the numerous brands of DSLR camera, ‘new school’ photographers are fond of slugging on their neck.
But one thing is certain, all the cameras I mentioned above are all very expensive and most of the time, unaffordable to the average photo enthusiasts. So, potential photographers unceremoniously kill their dream to become one. It is not only the exorbitant price of the cameras that’s making people packing up their dreams – what about the other camera equipment? What about the thousands of lenses I might have to buy? What about lights? What about - wait a minute, don’t I need a studio too?

Here is the good news everyone. Since you are reading my blog right now, either you are accessing it from a computer or your phone, or your tablet... I can categorically tell you that you already have what it takes to be a photographer.

Welcome the mobile phone...

Your phone, prolly the most useful gadgets you have in your possession, comes with a camera. And that’s all you need to start taking pictures.

And according to the saying, the best camera in the world is the one that you carry. And since we seldom forget our phone at home, we are carrying the best camera in our pockets/purses all the time.

Why don’t you stay glued to this blog and learn more things about photography. Or surf the web and learn all you need to know. And remember; a tool is as powerful as its user. If the best camera is given to an amateur photographer, he might not still be able to match the quality of picture a talented photographer will take.

Go outside right now and take a picture. Take the first step in becoming a photographer.

Cheers.
